Mike Skivington Memorial Scholarship
The Mike Skivington Memorial Scholarship Fund is pleased to offer two $1500 scholarships to one male student-athlete and one female student-athlete in the name of former Wheatland-Chili Boys Varsity Soccer coach Mike Skivington.
"Coach Skiv" passed away in January 2017 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. As a coach, man and member of the community, Skivington impacted countless lives. He coached several sports at Wheatland-Chili and Spencerport high schools and was very involved in the soccer community throughout Rochester. He is remembered for his ability to inspire young men and women to be their absolute best in all aspects of their lives and to never to give up on themselves or their aspirations. Giving up was never an option for Coach Skiv.

Qualifications and Requirements
Scholarship applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Participation in any sport senior year of high school
- Enrolling in college or enlisting in military after high school
- Exemplify the qualities and ideals for which Coach Skiv stood for:
- Outstanding character
- Loyalty
- Commitment to both athletics and academics
- Most importantly, a positive attitude
Applicants must complete the following requirements:
- Answer five written questions
- Write a 150-word essay
- Submit two letters of recommendation — one from a coach and one from a teacher
