Driver's Education
Wheatland-Chili Central School District will be offering a Spring Driver’s Education Program to all students who will be at least 16 years old and have a learners permit prior to February 26, 2026. The Spring course will run from
February 26, 2026 – June 11, 2026.
There will also be a summer Driver’s Ed. session from May 19, 2026 – June 26, 2026. Students who turn 16 years old and have a learners permit prior to May 19, 2026 will be eligible for the Summer Driver’s Ed.
Carefully review the schedule at the bottom of the page and understand that full commitment is required to participate in this course. All necessary drive and lecture times must be completed during the dates listed. Students may not cross into the next semester to finish lecture and/or in-car time. Students must attend all classes to complete the program and receive the MV-285 certificate. There are no additional make-up sessions, in-class or in-car, available beyond the two extra classes that are scheduled.
- Total cost of Driver Ed. Program: $475.00 District Resident or Non-District Resident
- Students must complete 24 hours of drive time and 24 hours of classroom time (NYS law) to receive their certificate
- Students should come to registration with:
- Enclosed completed paperwork
- Copy of student’s permit
- $150 deposit must be paid on My School Bucks to reserve your spot. Spots are limited for the Spring and Summer program
- Registration will end February 25, 2026 for the Spring session
- Registration will end May 18, 2026 for the Summer session
- After the 5th class, students will receive their 5-hour course certificate upon request if eligible to take their road test. A student may use their course completion certificate (MV-285) in place of a 5-hour course certificate.\
- If a student drops Driver’s Ed for any reason, the refund will be prorated, and a $25.00 administrative fee will apply
- Students will meet at the back door of the school for all drive times
Fees are paid at My School Bucks
Final payment of $325 MUST be received no later than February 13, 2026 for the Spring session and no later than May 11, 2026 for the Summer session. If balance is not paid, student will not be able to participate in Driver’s Ed. A refund will be issued less a $25 administrative fee.
Registration will be on a first-come basis.
